Some tools for making animation

　　The work for making HTML web page has many guideline resources in the bookstores. But how to making animation section or convert a vedio movie into web document seems hard a bit. An animation file could be separated into many single frames. Some PC-based softwares and hardwares are popular and friendly for animation making in the market and used in this repport. For example:

(1)GIF-construction/

　　GIF-construction utility can save sequential images into a single file. Many cute active icoms played in Web sites are made in this way. The image frames could be the output of numerical model product or satellite images. Figure 1 is the sample of total precipitation amount evolution at May, 1998 simulated with NCEP/USA Regional Spectral Model (Lin et al., 1999) for explaining summer monsoon phenomenon along western Pacific region.

(2)Media studio/ 　

　　This advanced media-making software is also operated easily. Figure 2 is the sample of water-vapor images evolution from GMS-5 geo-stationary satellite hourly output. An aircraft mark is added in this animation file to show the idea how Aerosonde (a small GPS-navaid autonomous aircraft) approaching a marine hurricane circulation (Lin and Jeng,1998).

(3)Digital camera/

　　Digital camera could be mounted on tripod and took pictures at constant time interval to record air motion. Figure 3 is a sample to show how cloud passing through a mountain topography. 　

(4)Audio Vedio catching/

　　The images in audio vedio cassette could be downloaded digitally by a specific PC board and save it into movie format. This utility is useable and recommended here to create active frames from the traditional VHS cassettes and be digested into CAI program.
